We spent about 36 hours in Sarajevo, one of our shortest stays in any city on our trip to-date although, it was likely the most rewarding. This post is a little longer than the others, but it was hard not to share our experience.
Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina – October 1 – 2, 2014 A short drive from Makarska and a common day trip destination from Dubrovnik and the Croatian coast, sits Mostar. Mostar is a small and extremely picturesque town that was nearly completely destroyed during the Bosnian war from ’92-’95 and has slowly been restored over the years.

In our previous post, ‘Once upon a time in Bled, Slovenia’, we highlighted our stay in the tiny fairytale like town in northwest Slovenia. Well it’s not just Bled that we fell in love with; Ljubljana was charming in its own right.
Bled, Slovenia – September 15 – 17, 2014
Even though we spent two full days there, we still aren’t sure if Bled is a real place. It was like we spent two days living in a fairy tale. It felt like we were the only people in town, it was that quiet and peaceful. Bled is a tourist destination but only by Slovenian standards.
