Accommodation Review: Baan Pra Nond Bed & Breakfast (Bangkok)

Baan Pra Nond B&B, Bangkok

18 Don Kuson 1, Yan Nawa, Sathon, Bangkok 10120

Cozy reception area

The Good

  • Walking distance, about 3 minutes, to Surasak (S5) BTS station and about 10 minutes walk to Saphan Taksin (S6) BTS station – Note: do not confuse BTS with MRT. MRT is the underground or Subway. BTS is the skytrain
  • Breakfast included and it varies every morning from bacon, eggs, toast to traditional Thai breakfast. Coffee is great – served in a French press
  • Very friendly, English-speaking staff offering tips about where and how to explore Bangkok
  • Clean, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms. We were in a Standard room and although it was small, it was perfect for us. We stayed about a week in total
  • Despite being located next to a freeway, once you enter the gates, the place is quiet and relaxing
  • WiFi available in all rooms and in the lobby; at times it took a little while to connect, but once connected it worked great
  • Snacks and coffee (instant) are available in the lobby and guests can help themselves, 24 hours a day
  • Welcome drink and cold washcloth on arrival was a great touch

Standard Room

The Bad

  • Slightly noisy in the second floor room, although not loud enough to affect sleep
  • Can be tricky for taxi driver’s to find, however the owners will send you directions in Thai that you can show your taxi driver. Either way, you can exit the taxi at Surasak BTS and navigate from there. A 5 minute walk

The Verdict

We would absolutely stay here again. In fact, we have stayed on two separate occasions. On our second visit, the owners were kind enough to arrange pick up from the airport for us; however, this is not typically included in the rates. Our rate was 1,500 TBH/night, which is roughly $52 CAD.
